Taking Pictures Using the LG Cell Phone LG Env Touch External Screen
I have been using my LG enV Touch LG-VX11000 cell phone to take pictures lately and thought I would share the steps that I take for taking pictures, how I save them to my MicroSD(tm) card, how I can view them using the external screen, and how to transfer the photos to a PC or laptop for viewing and sharing.
Taking photos using my cell phone has been more fun than I thought it would be and I especially like being able to use the photos for my contact icons instead of the default silhouettes.
These directions are for use with the Modern Retro Display theme. If you are using the Blue Inspiration Display theme, the modification is usually that you need to access the Multimedia Center first and then touch the Media Center icon.
A Word About the LG env Touch Cell Phone Camera
The LG enV Touch camera is a 3.2 megapixel camera that has many options and can be used with the flip closed or open. This hub will outline how to take pictures with the flip closed, using the external screen.
The camera has flash settings, focus settings, shot type which is pretty cool with one of the features being that the camera automatically detects a smile and takes the photo at that time! Also included with the camera settings and effects are Resolution settings, a Self Timer, Auto Save and a Video Camera. This list is not exhaustive, but gives you the idea of the scope and span of the camera features.
Steps to Changing Setting to Save Images to the External MicroSD(tm) Card
The phone uses internal and microSD(tm) external memory (purchased separately). Before taking a picture, you will want to either change or make sure your camera settings are in place for saving to your external memory card. This will enable easier transfer of your photos to your computer or other desired locations, such as a printer.
To have your photos saved to the external memory MicroSD (tm) Card using the external keypad:
- Unlock the touch screen by sliding the bottom image up or pressing the Unlock Key on the left side of the phone.
- Touch the center blue Menu Icon.
- Touch the Settings and Tools icon,
- Press the screen gently on the right hand side of the screen and scroll and touch Memory.
- Touch Save Options, Touch Picture, Touch Card Memory.

Hi William,
You need to have the settings on you phone so that the pictures are saved initially to your card. See above "Steps to Changing Setting to Save Images to the External MicroSD(tm) Card" for steps to make that change. Hope that is helpful.
Thanks!
My Glimmer automatically accessed my sd card. I have the settings changed, but when I go in to change the wallpaper, it just shows what's on my phone and can't see where in the phone to change to the sd card.
My husbands Env Touch is giving a blue cast to all his pictures now. How can he get it back to natural color?
Im so dissapointed. This phone does not have the option to take a self shot from the external screen like my old Voyager!! What a downgrade!!!
I keep trying to move my pics to my memory card following ur directions but this message keep popping up "cannot rename"! and then still no pics saved on the card? what am I doing wrong?
Joanne, refer to the section above "Moving LG Env Touch Pictures To Your Computer or Laptop" and then try moving your photos from your SD card to your phone. If you want to take and save pictures to the internal memory follow the steps above in the "Steps to Changing Setting to Save Images to the External MicroSD(tm) Card" and select internal memory in step 5.
So are you saying there is no way to transfer previous photos taken on the phones memory to the external memory card? I understand you need to change the setting to external card if you want the picture to go on the card right away. Is there any way to get your photos from the phone to a external card if you just bought the card?
SKITZO: JUST CALLED VERIZON AND THEY TOLD ME HOW TO DO IT. PUT YOUR MICRO SD CARD IN..GO TO SETTINGS & TOOLS..HIT MEMORY..HIT SAVE OPTIONS..HIT PICTURES..HIT CARD MEMORY. NEXT GO INTO MEDIA CENTER...HIT PICS AND VIDEO.. HIT MY PICTURES..HIT OPTIONS(UPPER RIGHT SILVER OVAL)...SLIDE DOWN TO MANAGE MY PICS...HIT THE OK BUTTON TO MARK EVERY PICTURE YOU WANT TRANSFERRED TO CARD. ONCE ALL DESIRED PICS HAVE A GREEN CHECKMARK ON THEM, HIT OPTIONS AGAIN...SCROLL DOWN TO MOVE..NEXT SCREEN SHOULD SHOW TO CARD HIGHLIGHTED IN RED, HIT OK. HIT YES. HOPE THIS HELPS!
Thank you skitzo2 for your question.
Supercakes: Thanks for your help.
I used to be able to transfer pictures right from my internal memory to my PC when I had Windows XP, now that I have Windows 7 Ultimate and a newer version of V Cast Manager it won't let me do it. If anyone knows how to transfer right from the internal memory please e-mail me at kolektart@yahoo.com.
On my computer, windows media player is music. Where are the pictures at!?
When I upload videos via the SD card...the video is fine but I do not have any audio? Any ideas how to fix this problem?
You CAN move photos from the internal memory to an SD card once you do get the card, and THEN transfer the photos from your SD card to your computer using the USB Mass Storage setting in tools. BUT pics you have taken before getting the card often won't move to the card unless you resave them, since they are lock protected.
Simple solution: select the photo you want in My Pictures, click on the upper right icon while the photo is open (brings up a list of options) and select "edit". Click on the upper right icon in the edit window (looks like a small disk) and do a Save As a New File. Rename it something new (will give you two pics that look the same in your My Pictures window). Now go BACK to My Pictures, hit the upper right icon again and this time select "Move". Select the image (or images) that you want to move - each will get a green checkmark on them. Now click the "Move" button at the bottom. It will give you the option to Move To Card. NOW when you connect the phone to your computer by using the USB Mass Storage selection in tools, any of these photos that you moved to the card will now be in your Pix folder and can now be moved to your computer. Instructions sound complicated when typed, but it's not - it's actually quite easy!
I too had ended up with one stranded favorite photo "stuck" on the internal memory that I had taken before getting an SD card, and was frustrated like mad because I couldn't access it. I was VERY happy when I figured out how to get it off there! So I hope this helps someone else out there who is just as frustrated!! LOL
I'm so happy to finally be able to get my pictures and videos off my phone since it was maxed out and I didn't want to delete anything.
A big thanks to everyone who pitched in on this!
Any suggestion if you have screens that no longer work? My screens shorted out and I cannot actually see what I am doing but I was hoping to get the pic off of my camera
Three pics have a star on the right corner and won't download to memory card. Keep getting message that they are
protected and locked. Have tried several times. How do you unlock them so I can transfer them to laptop. All other pics went but these three. Please help
I can get my pictures off but it's not recognising my videos. WTH
I'm not sure if you even still get on this site but THANK YOU YOU SAVED MY LIFE I had 156pics on this phone and I never bought the SD then when I upgraded my phone service to another company my new phone came equipped with a Sd and I was able to dave my pics :)
And Supercakes saves my day!
Do you have to have the SD card to transfer can you use an USB cord and transfer them?
For some reason my phone didn't come with a card. Is there any way to transfer the pictures to my computer (PC or mac) without the card? (via the USB cord? I don't have a data package so I cannot email them to myself)
